been in 10 states and Canada on week or longer trips. Cover the Katy Trail as a Trail Volunteer almost daily in nice

to serve the high mountain people. I still own my original 1960 Triumph TR3 Sports car and enjoy my Miata (with the
bike rack) which allows me to explore bikeways further away from home. Memories: It's so hard to believe
that before January 1949 teachers (female) lost their jobs if they married. Maybe that's why there were so many unmarried
career teachers that devoted all their energy to making my life difficult and in that pursuit gave me an education.
My memories of BHS are mixed. I really enjoyed going to school, but found it hard to conform and learn laundry lists
of bits to recite on exams. On the high side, my memories of fun and banter in the front hallway before school was reason
to get to school early. My love affair with the mechanical end of automobiles and the jobs I worked to pay for them
didn't leave time for extra curricular activities. Double dating with Ken Merkel in his big old Packard sedan; and Drag Racing
at Smartt Field in St. Charles (very legal and safe) with Ron Horstmann; my first Beer at Hobeins in Spanish Lake and A HOURS
