Don Bernard  Best Teachers: Ms. Alice Wolff- History, she made it interesting and alive. Ms  Helmich- Geometry. Loved her subject and inspired our class to love it too. I was lucky to have many excellent teachers who cared about their students and their subjects.

Easiest - Ms. Cassimus - Radio. She was so busy with her own multiple careers and personal life she gave us very little work to do.

Hardest- Mr. Feldman- Advanced Algebra- but good preparation for college work to come.

Karen Bock Menke  Mrs. Medlock - psychology.

Bill Braudis Mr. LaCroix, his philosophical statements more so than the subject matter. Mr. Tom Stanton and many others who provided much needed guidance and direction.

Kathleen Byrnes Meehan  Though Miss Quellmalz was an Assistant Principal and not one of my teachers, she gets my vote. Without her help, I would not have had the chance to go to college. I didn't even know she knew who I was but she went above and beyond for me. Wish I could let her know how she changed my life.
Sandra Canada Moore  Mr. Langleben, Home room teacher, funny man. Always a smile on his face.

Marilyn Cook Young Paul Miller, Driver's Ed. That man had the patience of a saint and Mr. LaCroix who encouraged me to read even though I didn't care for most of the classics.

Carole Crowe Gassel  My favorite teacher was Mrs. Hellwig - algebra teacher.

Dot Doell McNeely I guess my favorite teacher was Diane Cassimus, she was so patient with me and I felt we had a friendship above and beyond the teacher - student relashionship, and of course Louie LaCroix, the "Rugged Indiviualist" that he was. He really left an impression on me, educationally of course.

Vivian Dooley Williams Mr. Eyster - typing (sadly he died half way through the year I was in his clas), Miss Collier great English teacher-introduced me to A Tale of Two Cities. Mr. Enzinger-English.  Of course Miss Spillman P.E.

Tom Echols  English - Vera Zipp, in dramatics she inspired me to tour Greece; Math - Alice Helmich, relaxed teaching style with a good sense of humor; History - Alice Wolf, I really learned to appreciate our country. Lucille Reidel, a vibrant personality with great energy; Band - Mr. Van Doren: a real inspiration, and I liked marching and performing at football games.  Mr. Pancok was my favorite biology teacher who inspired me to win an award at the science fair.  Mr. Wallach, Latin, was special when he moved me next to my favorite girl at the time!

Doris Enfield Benson  Mrs. Medlock for psycology was my favorite. Mr. Kirk who sponsored the technicians club and had it for home room kept me out of supervised study halls. I have a warm memory of Hyman Feldman who taught Geometry. Because of his diminutive stature, it was necessary for him to climb on his desk chair and then onto his desk to erase the top of the  blackboard. I guess it gave a gangly teenager a feeling of being a "grown up".

Marjorie Foushee Davis Mrs. Brew and Ms Else Brix
Jim Greco Miss Tolson - Her math classes lead to a career as an engineer.

Jerry Guerra Miss Cassimus

Shirley Hunt Simonds  Miss Henske - The first day in her class, I told her I was new. She said "Did God just make you?" Was pretty embarrassed. Realize now she was a good teacher as you had better study & learn.

Jane McCracken Nichols Miss Brix-Music. The spring musicals were so much fun as was the glee club. Also Mr Enzinger-English, he sponsored the DIGEST and was just great.

Kenneth Merkel Clara Mutschnick, hands-down.  She treated me like an adult when I was so obviously barely adolescent.  She made all the difference.

LaDonne Mossotti Tangaro  Miss Collier - English - she made required reading a pleasure.

Elinor Murphy Schubert  Miss Pflegler who passed me with a D in algebra if I promised not to take it again. I took general math, passed with an A and on to book keeping with my other favorite teacher, Mr. Tolson, whose advice was to marry a nice young man and have him take care of me. I took that advice.
Jim Orr Alvin Hansen who taught machine tool operation. He showed me physics, math, chemistry all came together to make things with your hands, head and those great old machine tools and the importance of precision and a job well done.
Paul Travers  Miss Warner, who taught public speaking, was a very dedicated, compassionate person who wanted everyone to succeed in her class. She was constructively critical, but she did so while preserving everybody's ego.

Don Williams Ms. Cassimus.

Ron Williams  Mr. LaCroix. He made you appreciate the things you read.

Bill Braudis Never met one, however, if it were the Teachers voting for the Least Favorite Student..... For once, perhaps, it would be me at the head of the class.
Kathleen Byrnes Meehan Minnie McGrew had to be the worst.  The guys in our English class used to climb out the windows and play ball on the roof during her class. The whole class was a joke.
Marilyn Cook Young Not really a teacher, Miss Quellmalz who gave me A hours for skipping school which I certainly deserved.
Carole Crowe Gassel  My least favorite was Mr. Pancock - biology.  He had no personality!
Vivian Dooley Williams  Miss Gibson and Miss Grey
Jim Greco  It would be unfair for me to pick only one. Miss Gibson and Mr. LaCroix hands down. The were both so deserving of my vote.
Jerry Guerra Miss Cunningham
Ron Williams  Mr. Young the asst. principal. Ugh!
